Tax Return 2010: New Patio

Our new home thankfully has a three-car garage. We've been using the 3rd bay as storage for our bubbly tub for almost a year now.

When we received our tax return, we did what every hard-working, red-blooded American did. We put it in savings. We spent every last penny. Not only did we build a massive concrete patio, we also got the hot tub out of the garage!

We had outdoor furniture everywhere: cramped onto our 10x10 concrete slab, in the grass, in the garden and even some in the garage. Now, everything has a home and Drew has his garage back.

It looks great! I love how home builders think it's sufficient to put a tiny concrete square in the yard and call it a patio.

You did a super job. I love your flowering bushes.

The flowering shrubs are azaleas. They only bloom for about 3-4 weeks in the spring before the flower start falling off (as you can see in the pics). Ours were actually in another spot in our yard and they weren't thriving - so we moved them once we finished the concrete.
