Striped Entry Hall

I did it. I striped my hallway. And with zero help.

Thanks to Kathleen for the awesome tips. Check out her hallway.

The curved wall in the entry really makes the space unique. But it was so plain.

I'm really digging the look. However, it's like buying a new dress with no purse, shoes or jewelry to match. I need to accessorize!

Entire hallway cost me about $25 bucks (I only used half a can of each paint) and approximately 9 hours of my life.

I'm sharing this paint job with:

Wow! Your hallway is beautiful. I tried to help a friend do the same thing, but taping the lines was difficult. How did you mark your lines? Tape, chalk marks, level?

Great job. The hallway is beautiful...

Thank you for all the comments! It makes me so happy since this was probably a job for an engineer.

The paint I used was Chester Gray (darker) and Hampton Court (lighter) from Ralph Lauren. I actually have Chester Gray throughout much of my house. It's my fav.

So taping was a nightmare. I spent quite some time calculating how far apart my lines needed to be. I was able to use a nifty laser level for half. The other half was a tape measure and pencil. Not the most scientific but it got the job done.

"this was probably a job for an engineer. "

4 years of art school + an engineer was the only way we were able to accomplish the stripes in our hallway. I still can't get over how good yours looks - especially with that curved wall.

Love it, love it, love it! You must be so happy.

Thanks Kathleen. Yes - the curved wall definately needed some spice. My parents gave me their old record collection a few months ago - thinking about framing some and adding to the wall for a bit of nostalgia.
