Country Oak - the color of our stair railing. I think it was hip in the 90's if you were in your late 40's. It's been on the to-do list since we moved in, just wasn't a priority.
Once again, a project that took me nearly 2 weeks to finish.

Terrible light in the last picture. Today is overcast and I didn't have much sunlight. But I was too anxious to share!

Can you share what product you used on this project? I have the same railing that needs a makeover. Thank you!

This looks wonderful! I would love to know the steps involved. I don't have a railing, but I have lots of furniture throughout my house that could use the same update.
Beautiful job!
This is a must-have tutorial! Pretty please?!
Thanks everyone for your sweet words! While, I won't be re-doing the project for a complete tutorial, I will definately get pics together of everything I used and a few tips I learned along the way. Stay tuned!
Love it! I have the same country oak railing. I would love, LOVE to hear your tips.
Want to do same to ours. How did you do it? What color stain is that? Thanks so much. Great job.
I have the same question as above...did you have to sand the post? Did you use a rub on stain? Thanks.
Thanks for the comments! I did a follow up post on how I stain. http://jennscornerofheaven.blogspot.com/2010/04/how-i-stain.html
